Our hardworking IT team is a group of flexible problem-solvers working in a fast-paced environment but who also thrive under the challenge of supporting all of our proprietary systems and people, from finance to launch operations.As a Senior IT Network Engineer based at Rocket Lab's site in Mt Wellington, Auckland, you will be responsible for the implementation, administration, and operation of all networks and firewalls across all of Rocket Lab.WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
Enable Rocket Lab Engineers to develop and deliver our world-class rocket launch capabilities via the deployment and management of highly reliable and scalable network infrastructure and supporting software.Provide subject matter expertise to deliver and support our highly reliable and available IT network infrastructure.Lead upgrades and maintenance with a focus on continuous improvement to provide a reliable and secure network infrastructure.Lead/Assist project scoping, planning, and deployment for network infrastructure and new site commissioning projects in support of Annual Operating Plan goals.Support Infrastructure Standards function(s) at Rocket Lab through the implementation of Standards for the deployment and management of the Launch infra environments to ensure:
Compliance with Rocket Lab PoliciesCompliance with Cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.Simplified and consistent environment management practicesAutomated build and maintenance processesImprovements to increase reliability of systemsSystem High Availability and Disaster RecoveryThat the team is providing effective supportYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent years of experience (8+ years in IT).8+ years of experience in a network-focused technology role.Expert knowledge of Juniper or Cisco network switching.
Fortinet firewall setup, configuration, and management.Knowledge of WAN, SD-WAN, routing, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, firewalls, etc.THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
AWS and/or O365 & Azure enterprise environments.One or more of the following:
VMwareWindowsConfiguration ManagementAutomation and/or Infrastructure as Code.One or more of the following:
HA/DR/BCCertificate Management (PKI), DNS, or DHCP.Security frameworks/technology:
ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, etc.WHAT TO EXPECT:
