Here at Saga, we are looking for a new Finance Change Accountant to join Saga Insurance.
You will play an integral role in supporting successful outcomes across the finance workstream of a critical Saga Services Limited (SSL) wide transformation project, linked to the publicly announced 20-year Partnership with Ageas.
When live, the partnership will bring together Sagas brand, customer relationships and insight, scale in the over 50s space with Ageas deep underwriting focus and technology.
The joint capabilities will enable both SSL and Ageas businesses to grow as a partnership in the Personal lines space.
As the Finance Change Accountant, you will play a critical role supporting the design and implementation of change across our Insurance Brokering Finance function.
Your core focus will be embedding the accounting processes and control environment required to meet Insurance and Saga Group business needs in a post-go-live partnership business model.
Reporting to the Insurance Financial Controller, this role will extend the existing FR&C team, with a primary remit to ensure the team is adequately prepared for the change in Saga Services Limiteds future business model.
This role will carry a high level of visibility across members of the Saga Insurance finance leadership team, and you will be part of a high-profile project at a time of change and transformation.
This requires active project participation at the individual and group level and the ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations across deliverables.
We offer flexibility over where you work you choose a place where you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs.
Our insurance finance team meet most weeks in either London or Folkestone.
As part of this role we would require you in our Folkestone office at least once a month to meet with the wider project teams.

Main Responsibilities
As our Finance Change Accountant you will be accountable for setting the accounting process and control landscape need by the business to accurately record financial performance in a different business model.
Other responsibilities will include:

Ensuring integrity and timeliness across project deliverables
Communication and collaboration with finance and business stakeholders to deliver a successful business transition
Active participation in project meetings that provide governance and steering of the Insurance business
Proactive stakeholder management to ensure priorities are understood and commitments are met.
Building relationships and trust across the Saga Insurance finance team
Appropriate, fact based, challenge into the project finance workstream where an opportunity presents to optimise project outcomes
The Ideal Candidate
As a Finance Change Accountant you will be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with demonstrable experience of successful delivery (design and implementation) in business change projects.
Whilst experience in the Insurance industry isn't essential, having a background in financial services would be an advantage.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, managing stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
Experience and competence in external financial reporting, including preparation of statutory accounts
Able to build and maintain excellent working relationships, with both finance and non-finance colleagues
Able to challenge processes and assumptions, with a mindset for continuous improvement
Able to quickly establish credibility, winning the respect and co-operation of colleagues
Analytically strong with the ability to challenge and interrogate
Inquisitive, and strong desire to understand the why behind processes in order to perform them better and identify opportunities
Able to work independently without constant oversight
Relish the challenge of working to tight deadlines and during periods of pressure
