About The Role - Red Seal Mechanic (FLY IN / FLY OUT - 14 X 14))

This position will provide maintenance and repair support for a range of mobile and static explosive pumping equipment. Additionally, this position will complete regular fleet maintenance and inspections through the preventative maintenance program.

What you will be doing

Troubleshooting of all Orica explosive pumping and manufacturing equipment

Assist with vehicle audits and regulatory inspections

Complete regular fleet maintenance and inspections through the preventative maintenance program

Ensure regulatory compliance and mobile major hazard management as required

Fault finding and repair of prime mover explosives delivery unit (Majority of Western Star Chassis).

Location and Work Schedule:

Work locations to support: Coal Valley mine, Vista mine, Gahcho Kue mine. 14x14 roster. depending on location travel would be paid for and accommodation and meals while at work

Work Schedule: Three options depending on home location

Option #1 working Monday through Friday

Option #2 working 4 days on / 3 days off

Option #3 for non-local applicants, working 14 days on / 14 days off

Work Provision

Training on equipment provided

Safe training provided

Repair Truck or Work Truck with tools and fuel card provided

Housing and meals provided for overnight stays

What you will bring

Experience in electrical and hydraulic repair and failure diagnosis.

Experience with Detroit Diesel, Mercedes, CAT power plants.

Experience working with progressive cavity and gear pumps would be an asset.

The ability to undertake confined space training for the purpose of tank Inspections would be an asset.

They must be a self starter with a can-do attitude and the ability to focus on attention to detail.

A strong safety background is a must.

Motivated team player with strong organizational and communication skills.

Must be willing to travel and be able to work outside in all conditions.

Capable of working in a heavy equipment environment a must.

Previous mine experience an asset

Computer proficient in Microsoft programs

Proficiency in SAP work order systems preferred

Your qualifications

High School /Secondary School diploma or equivalent

Class 1 drivers' license is an asset, OR Class 3 drivers' license with air mandatory with clean abstract

Inter Provincial Red Seal certificate required (Heavy Duty or Truck and Transport)

CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Permit) is an asset

Compensation

$45- $50/hour Red Seal certified (Heavy Duty or Truck and Transport)

$20/day per diem

Housing provided while on shift

Transport to and from Site (Local Applicants)

Company Vehicle provided. (Not Applicable to Local Applicants)
